After photographing over 800 events and capturing more than 2 million frames, I’ve developed a strong intuition and the ability to be in the right place at the right time, capturing the moments that truly matter.

When photographing people who know they’re being photographed, I can guide them by adjusting their posture and body positioning, turning an ordinary photo into an image where they still recognise themselves, but see themselves at their very best.

My career has taken me across borders and around the world. Since 2013, I’ve had the privilege of photographing weddings internationally, in destinations such as the United Arab Emirates, Dominican Republic, Malta, Poland, Germany, Austria, Italy, and so on. More than a photographer
My name is Cristian Matei, and I believe that the role of an event photographer does NOT begin when I arrive at the venue, nor does it end when I leave and head home.
The experience I’ve gained from photographing hundreds of events has taught me that a successful wedding day requires more than beautiful photographs. It takes thoughtful planning, a realistic timeline, and someone who knows how to guide you when needed.
From the moment we decide to work together, I’m by your side throughout the entire process. I can help you build your wedding timeline, estimate how much time to set aside for the key moments, and organise the day so there’s plenty of time for photographs, without making you feel like your entire wedding has turned into a photoshoot.
After hundreds of events, I know where delays tend to happen, which moments need a little extra time, and how to create a timeline that allows everything to unfold naturally and at a relaxed pace.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer video services?
For events taking place in the UAE, I collaborate with trusted videographers whose services and quality standards align with my own.
If you’re also interested in videography for your event, I can check my collaborators’ availability and recommend the option I feel would be the best fit for your special day.
How long does it take to receive the edited photos?
The delivery time for your photographs varies depending on the time of year your event takes place and my current project workload.
In general, your photographs will be delivered within one week to a maximum of two months from the date of your event.
In certain cases, I can also offer a Same-Day Edit, where I select, edit, and deliver a selection of your best photographs while your event is still taking place.
Are the photos edited?
Yes. Every photograph I deliver undergoes a careful process of professional editing.
All essential aspects of light, exposure, colour, contrast, tones, and composition are carefully adjusted to ensure each image looks balanced and beautifully reflects the atmosphere and emotion of the moment.
Depending on the needs of each image, some photographs may also receive additional retouching. This can include correcting temporary skin imperfections or removing unwanted elements from the frame or background.
Do you deliver all the photos?
The selection process is designed to preserve and deliver all the important moments of your event. I don’t exclude photographs that contribute to telling the story of your day, but I do leave out duplicate shots and images that are too similar to one another.
For example, when taking a group photograph, I may capture several consecutive frames to ensure everyone is photographed at their best. From this series, I’ll select the image with the most flattering expressions, everyone’s eyes open, and a result that meets my quality standards.
My selection process is therefore focused on delivering a comprehensive collection of your event, without overwhelming your gallery with hundreds of nearly identical photographs. You’ll receive all the relevant images and important moments, carefully selected and professionally edited.
How do we make a reservation?
A booking deposit is required to secure your event date. This deposit is intended exclusively to confirm and reserve your date in my calendar.
A contract is drawn up for each event, clearly outlining the services provided, the event schedule, payment terms, and all other important details of our agreement.
Once the contract has been signed and the deposit has been paid, your event date is officially reserved.
